Elite Singles is a dating site that bridges a gap. It’s for those of us who want the ease of ‘app’ style matches, but are ready for something more than hookups. Elite Singles aims to foster real connections between like minded adults, particularly hard working, driven professionals who may lose out on dating opportunities due to their packed schedules. The site prides itself on the high levels of education within its user ranks, and that shows in the profiles encountered on Elite Singles.
The sign up process for Elite Singles isn’t complicated, but it can take some time. Maybe block out an evening and have a glass of wine as you answer the somewhat probing questions the site throws at you with its personality test, which is based on the psychologically verified Five Factors Model. The test is, of course, all for a reason. The more honestly you answer the better your matches will be. And this somewhat lengthy onboarding process means that you’ll save time later -- your matches will be excellent, and they will have information about you. A lot of useless chitchat will be cut out.
Just like all dating sites, you’ll have a profile on Elite Singles. Profiles on this site are simple, with pictures and the answers from the parts of the personality text you typed into.
There are additional questions that you can answer in a more essayistic style. You can search through these and find the ones that will best showcase your personality or, for a bit of fun, you can ask for a random question. The basic profile, before you answer extra questions, shows your goals, lifestyle and personality, so the additional questions certainly aren’t a must, more an added extra.
Really, you’re only getting a taster of this site without premium. If you like the kind of users you’re seeing, and want to get to know some of them, premium is a must. But it doesn’t have to break the bank! There are three levels of premium membership on Elite Singles. These are: Three-month membership: £49.95 per month, six-month membership: £34.95 per month, and 12-month membership: £24.95 per month. There are regular sales, so do check back if you’re unsure about making the move to premium benefits like unlimited communication, and a peek at who views your profile.
Cancel your premium account by going to ‘account’ and then ‘membership’ before proceeding to ‘cancel’ and going through a couple of questions. Likewise, going to ‘account’ and ‘delete my account’ will delete your profile and close your account. Do be aware, though, that this is a permanent decision and you won’t get your previously inputted info, your matches or your purchases back.
Elite singles allows you to search for matches by distance, and above a certain height, amongst other factors. You can get pretty specific on Elite singles, which can only be a good thing when you’re looking for love! Education is, as the other site features would suggest, very important. This means that educational credentials are also shown on everyone’s profile.
Elite Singles has your back, and wants to keep your interest. Every day, the site suggests 3-7 matches based on their compatibility formula. Compatibility is rated out of 100, and we can think of this as %, so 85 is an 85% match
In addition to suggested matches, Elite Singles has a ‘Have You Met’ feature. This shows you singles within your area who are a reasonable match for you. The thinking here is, why not give it a try? Sometimes opposites attract. Apparently, anyway.
The five-factor model has a strong basis in psychology, so that’s a real pull for Elite Singles. They claim that their matching technology really gets to the root of your personality, and not only sets you up with partners who have similar goals, but should also gel with you on a personality level. And isn’t that what we all want? Sometimes a goth and a ballerina fall in love, because it’s what’s inside that counts!
The main differences between the four levels of membership beyond free are the contract lengths. Having said that, the longer you commit for, the more benefits you receive.
Premium members get unlimited messaging with matches.
With premium membership, all pictures are unblurred and you can see who you’re talking to!
With most premium plans, you can see who looked at your profile and how often. That means you know when someone might be interested in getting to know you...

Elite Singles has seen a gap in the market and jumped right in. It’s for those who are serious about finding a partner, but still young enough that they want a little of the app ease, and don’t want to be on totally traditional dating sites. The Five Factors approach gives the site an edge, and though it could perhaps be seen as limiting in terms of opportunity, the emphasis on work and education probably rings true as a need with a lot of older millennial and gen x singles looking for love. There should certainly be an easier way to test out premium features, though, and the onboarding process could be split into sections that can be returned to, for those of us who are perpetually busy. Isn’t that why we’re using a dating site, after all?
I joined EliteSingles after deciding it was time to get serious and find someone that I would want to commit to. I had been very career focused since my early 30's and I didn't really have time for a relationship, so I was just casually dating here and there. When I turned 38 I decided to check out various online dating sites, but on most, I found I wasn't really connecting with the women. I really appreciate a sharp mind, so when I saw that EliteSingles had a high proportion of highly educated singles, I decided to give it a go. I matched with a number of women in the first few weeks and after chatting with a few, I realised one was very similar to me and we organised to meet up. On our first date, we chatted for 4 hours about anything and everything and really 'clicked'. We've been dating for 18 months now and on our overseas holiday next month, I plan to propose!
What can I say. I was a little hesitant at first as like eHarmony, Elite Singles supplies you with matches after you fill out a lengthy profile. I live in a fairly major city so a lot of matches were sent my way. [...] This was my first try at online dating and overall it was a good experience. I have met several men through Elite Singles and am currently dating one of them now. I was hesitant at first as my girl friends have used other dating services with mixed results. They complained about scammers and the poor choice in men. I think you will find them on all services just like in real life. You just have to know what signs to look for and play it smart. [...] In the end I am glad I choose this service.
I don't think my Elite singles experience was worth it. Though their advertising is good, and I could navigate the site. I live just outside the second largest city in the UK, and I found there are not a lot of local users. There were great matches, but they were a little far away for me. Maybe I need to expand my boundaries, but I don’t drive so it is an issue. It would work for those willing to travel.
I met my partner six months ago through Elite Singles, and everything is going well. We’re taking it slow, as we’re both divorced and busy with work. I would recommend the site to anyone looking for a partner.
